Lift Chrome Extension · Last updated: June 2026
Overview
Lift is a Chrome extension that helps you inspect and copy UI effects from websites using the Claude AI API. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and what is never collected.
Data we collect
- Claude API key — stored locally in your browser using
chrome.storage.sync. It is never sent to our servers. - Version preference — "personal" or "pro" mode, stored locally in
chrome.storage.sync. - Last capture result — stored temporarily in
chrome.storage.sessionand cleared when the browser session ends.
Data we do NOT collect
- We do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information.
- We do not track which sites you visit or which elements you inspect.
- We do not have analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting.
- We do not have a backend server — no data leaves your device except the requests you explicitly trigger to the Claude API (Anthropic) and to Alexandriaweb.design.
Third-party services
- Anthropic (Claude API) — when you run a Lift capture, the HTML/CSS of the selected element and your description are sent to the Claude API using your own API key. Anthropic's privacy policy applies: anthropic.com/privacy.
- Alexandriaweb.design — if you click "Post to Alexandria," your browser opens a tab on this site with metadata as URL parameters. No data is sent automatically.
Permissions explained

Data retention
